Walter F. Meier Lodge of Research No. 281 is a regularly constituted masonic Lodge chartered in 1936 by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Washington. Its members are interested primarily in masonic research and education, the results of which are published in pamphlet form or in Transactions.
Our Lodge is comprised almost entirely of Plural Members and any Mason may petition for Plural Membership without leaving his original Lodge. Masons from other Jurisdiction’s, Lodges or Concordant masonic organizations may also become members of our Correspondence Circle and receive a copy of each Walter F. Meier publication (Trestleboard and Transactions) distributed to its regular members. Plural membership dues are $60 and Correspondence Circle dues are $50, payable in advance on January 1st of each year.
Transactions represents just one way our Lodge serves masonry through research, education, and publications. In addition to publishing this and other materials, the Lodge:
• Holds regular Stated Meetings at the Greenwood Masonic Center on the fourth Thursday of February, April, June, August, October, and the third Friday of December at 6:30 p.m. for Dinner and 7.30 p.m. for Lodge.
• Maintains a Masonic Speaker Bureau.
• Corresponds with other masonic Research Lodges throughout the world.
• Encourages Masons to improve their research, writing and speaking skills by providing them venues and opportunities to present and publish their work.
